No sleep 'til Hampton......
All roads lead to Hampton this Saturday (07:03:09) as the EFW team head to the Beveree Stadium for the top of the table Conference South clash between Hampton and Richmond Borough v Eastleigh. 2nd place plays 3rd - corrrrrr!
Lots to like here; Alan Devonshire manages the Beavers (Beavers!). Alan played umpty thrumpty times during his brief (24 year) spell for West Ham. Hampton's President is also Alan Simpson OBE - the very same chap who co-wrote Steptoe and Son. The Spitfires of Eastleigh also boast an 80's ex-professional stalwart as their boss, namely Ian Baird - he of Boro, Leeds, Pompey etc etc
Big Deaks, Cynical Dave and I will be boarding an early train out of Brighton for this one. As usual - what's not to like!? See you there.
In other news: If you fancy a bit of a laugh - I got interviewed last week for a Wrexham FC podcast. I start off terribly and then regain a bit of composure towards the end.
Clearly I'm better either behind a keyboard or after a couple of pints of Guinness rather than on the airwaves at an unearthly 9am which is when this took place:

In other news (Part 2): We got a mention on the Bordeaux website following our visit to their match with St Etienne on 22:02:09. Seems we struck quite a chord with our friends from Bordeaux. Quite a few of them have since joined our Facebook site and plans are afoot to visit the Bordeaux v St Etienne match next season at the Stade Chaban Delmas.
Here is the link which followed Bordeaux's match with L'orient at the weekend (scroll down to the bottom for the EFW mention):

And the comedy translation to English!? Here we go:
The site internet that one very much likes:
European Football Weekends is a composed blog by a little wacky English but especially crazy of soccer. Their trip? Trimballer their sympathy through Europe and attend all the weekends to a game that kept their attention, that the poster be prestigious or no. This is as well as they met again at Geoffroy Guichard about ten days ago, shouted at by the friendship between St Etienne and of Bordeaux. Here their report.
So there you go - We are both wacky and crazy according the French. We'll settle for that eh!?

I thought you sounded rather good! I'm the guy who does the Wrexham podcasts, and I've been very fortunate with the range of articulate and entertaining guests, but you were right up there with the best of them Danny!
We had a brilliant day at Lewes, and it was good to relive it. I'm already getting over-excited about the trip to Eastbourne on Saturday!
